Forensics

The information at the heart of internal corporate investigations, civil litigation, and criminal investigations is often stored on computer hard drives and removable media. Our firm specializes in the forensic recovery of such data, using cross-platform forensic tools and forensic examiners. The acquisition of data can include the recovery of deleted or undeleted files, virtual disks, temporary Internet folders, etc. Acquisition and analysis is accomplished to preserve the integrity of the original data and thereby to assure its admission into evidence.

In advance of actual forensic recovery of data, we render consulting advice to clients regarding the goals of the engagement, the parameters by which the data will be searched, and how factors such as data volume, file or hardware corruption, outmoded media, random or intentional deletion, encryption and striping will affect an assignment. We present our analysis in a format that is appropriate to the engagement, including oral reports, written reports, sworn affidavits, and/or expert testimony.

We have conducted forensic recovery and analysis on PC and MAC laptops, desktops, servers, gateways, and removable media in a wide variety of cases.
